Summary and Highlights of Achievement Goals
A、Implementing teaching innovations and improving teaching quality:Highlight1.Our school continues to promote innovative teaching and counseling to improve course teaching design, and the school has organized 9 teaching and learning activities (one of which is highly interactive online teaching); The school held the "8th Cross-Strait Innovation and Infiltration Teaching Seminar" with 10 papers published. In 2021, the school received three grants for three cases in the teaching practice research project, and the school will continue to apply for 11 cases in 2022. There are 31 “deep bowl” courses, of which 15 are tutoring for exams, 13 are tutoring for competitions, and the other three are tutoring students for performances.
Highlight2.Improving students' professional practical skills: The school is the largest skill verification and license examination room in the Northern District of Taiwan. It conducts professional skills training with credible verification standards, and subsidizes students to participate in off-campus professional competitions, winning a total of 37 gold medals, 30 silver medals, 15 bronze medals and 91 special awards. In the "51st National Skills Competition Northern District Skills Competition," student Chen Guanwei from the Comprehensive Machinery department received a second-place prize, student Guo Ruiqin from the 3D Digital Game Art department received a first-place prize and students Li Chenghan and Zheng Yawen received awards for excellent works; in the "51st National Skills Competition," the 3D Digital Game Gold Medal was awarded to Guo Ruiqin in the Art Category, and Chen Guanwei was awarded the Silver Medal in the Comprehensive Mechanical Category.
Highlight3.Improving students' cross-domain learning ability: The freshman year fully implements the cross-domain course experience, and offers 59 micro-credit courses, with a total of 2,192 students taking courses, providing students with multi-disciplinary research to achieve the purpose of cross-domain learning. Twenty-two groups of cross-domain practical works are prepared for in order to register for and participate in competitions.
B、Developing school characteristics:
Highlight1.Professional value-added practice takes root: A total of 1,128 students completed the professional practice (off-campus) internship course.
Highlight2.International exchanges: In order to expand students’ international horizons and enable students to go overseas for study with peace of mind, despite the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic this year, there was still one student who applied to participate in “Learning to Fly in the Sea” and eight students who applied for “Learning to Dream in the Sea.” In the 2021-2022 academic year, in line with the government's southbound policy, we actively have expanded the recruitment of overseas students, and enrolled five classes of the International Special Class (two classes for the new southbound industry-academic international class, two classes for the overseas Chinese production-study joint class, and one class for overseas students). A total of 225 students enrolled.
Highlight3.Courses for the development of the Senior Industry: This year, three workshops were held through the "Elderly Smart Home Exhibition Space." Students participated in the "14th Creative Rhapsody, Nest to the Future - Smart Living Space Creative Competition" by the Institute of Architecture of the Ministry of the Interior and won the selection award. One group attending "The 15th University Interior Design Department/Space Design Department Student Drawing Competition" won the Bronze Award. The school opened five senior LOHAS industry training courses, with 158 students taking the courses, making a total of 26 various dishes in frozen cooking packages. The school also invited four retirees to participate in research and development, implementation and evaluation together, so that the research and development results could be used in menu design, cooking methods and seasonings to better meet the needs of silver-haired people.
C、Advancing the public accessibility to higher education:
Highlight1.Schooling assistance for disadvantaged students: 1,351 person-times were tutored and disadvantaged students were financially assisted.
Highlight2.Indigenous Student Resource Center Counseling: Handling various tutoring activities, which are divided into three aspects: license tutoring, cultural learning and career counseling. The activities being held this year include an Atayal puppet paper art workshop, PVQC English tutoring classes, tribal service camps and field trips, International Etiquette Class B License tutorials, Nanshi Amis language certification remedial classes, an incense stone making workshop, aboriginal talent experience sharing lectures, etc., serving a total of 666 person-times.
D、Fulfilling social responsibility:
Assisting local development to enhance the substantial contribution and value of the university: The school offers 10 professional courses to integrate into service learning. The USR project team of our school actively strives for external resources. There are five derivative projects in 2021-2022 academic year, with an investment of 3.4 million yuan, with 17 courses related to talent cultivation being set up, and with each course corresponding to the 17 SDGs goals and the ESG 3 goals. Curriculum design focuses on incorporating USR practice, and the core goals are consistent with SDGs and ESG goals. Combined with a university of the elderly, the school has continued to plan various activities to drive teachers and students to go deep into the areas of Shenkeng, Shiding, Pingxi and other places. In addition to serving the elderly in the local area, the school also assists in improving the current situation to enhance the community’s leisure industry.
